It was promised to be better than last years and was it? Well most people felt so. A variety in activities, a day out at a theme park and a truly enjoyable theme made the week a popular one with the children. New activities included making Swords, Glass Boxes and doing Magic tricks, with the old ones such as the Treasure Hunt were enjoyed by all. The children also had the chance to do sports, have a trip to Greenhead Park and of course soaking the Adult. On the Tuesday we all went to Camelot Theme Park, a really popular day out, a great show and fun rides made the day one to remember for a long time. And who can forget the Games where the groups battled it out against each other to become Summer School Champions, this year the Jazzy Jesters won both tournaments, truly great champions.
However what did make a great difference this year were the leaders. All eight students, from Royds Hall High School, made the week such an enjoyable one and all got on with all the children. They were extremely good in everything they did and were truly superstars in their own way. Without these eight I dont feel it would have been half a success as it was. The saddest part of the week was the last hour when tears were past from both the children and leaders neither wanted the week to finish, but at least they have the memories and the thoughts that they will see each other next year.
